Betsson Group Services Approved to Launch in Ontario, Canada

Ontario’s online gambling market is one of the most sought-after by operators and suppliers. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission relaunched this highly regulated market in April 2022. Since then, several online casinos and operators have lined up to get their licenses in the Canadian province.

Recently, Betsson, a multi-award-winning operator and supplier, announced that its B2C offering would launch in Ontario via Betsafe. This is after the company announced it had been granted operator and supplier permits for online gaming in the region. The development is congruent with the company’s previously declared Ontario market onslaught.

Following the accreditation, Betsson will launch its comprehensive B2C service, including online casino and sports betting. The company will launch through its worldwide Betsafe brand in the regulated Ontario market.

In an official statement, Betsson Group says that this will be provided through the platform of Strive Gaming, in which Betsson holds a 40% stake. Customers in Ontario will be able to access Betsson’s services via the Apple Store apps and the ot.betsafe.com website. The company says the products have been tailored to offer a more North American feel.

Betsson’s provider license will permit them to provide their sportsbook products to other operators on a B2B basis. As it stands, Ontario is home to more than 35 online gambling and betting sites, making this deal a significant milestone for Betsson Group.

It’s worth noting that almost 40% of all Canadians are in Ontario. The province is known to be the most economically influential in the nation, and it is believed that Ontario will soon become one of the biggest online gaming markets in North America.

This accreditation is another proof of Betsson’s prowess in 2023. The company recently scooped numerous accolades at the EGR Nordics Awards 2023, organized in Malta on February 24.
