Crown Sydney back with casino operations in August

The Crown Sydney will be back with their gambling operations on the 8th of august. The crown got their casino games offering suspended by the NSW regulator since December 2020. At the time Crown was having been found unsuitable to hold a casino license.

According to the Bergin inquiry, which was a 750-pagare report about the corporate culture and governance of Crown Resorts. The corporate governance and culture was heavily criticized in this inquiry. The NSW regulator than decided that Crown should undergo a substantial corporate makeover to get back their casino license.

Almost 2 years later Crown found to be suitable again to get back their license. However, for now they are receiving a conditional license. This conditional license is granted so the regulators get additional time to monitor the final phase of the crown. During this final phase the regulator of the NSW Liquor and Gambling Authority will decide whether they will get their license back or not.

For now, only the Crystal room will open its doors on the 8th of august, the Mahogony will reopen at a later date.

Simon McGrath, CEO of Crown Sydney about the reopening: “The opening of our gaming operations at Crown Sydney is a defining moment for Crown, and the culmination of months of hard work from our dedicated team,”

“The entire team at Crown Sydney has been preparing for this moment for a long time and we felt the symbolism of the 08.08 date represented ideal timing to open our doors. We look forward to showcasing our exclusive and unique gaming experience to our VIP members and their guests from next month.

“We are committed to delivering a safe and responsible gaming environment for all, and Crown Sydney’s restricted gaming facility has been designed with the highest levels of governance and compliance. It is the only casino of its kind in Australia, with all patrons required to be a member or guest of a member and undergo comprehensive checks.

“The gaming floors at Crown Sydney set a new standard in luxury and elegance – from the design of the room to the overall member experience. The salon floors are flooded with natural light to highlight our unparalleled waterfront views, while the finishes and furnishings are of the highest quality and standard.”
