British Columbia Lottery Debuts Ticket to Ride Board Game

The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) recently announced a new Online Casino game for Canadian players, Ticket to Ride. This launch marks the industry’s pioneer instant ticket based on Ticket to Ride by Days of Wonder.

Like the popular board game, players of Ticket to Ride fight to connect cities, constrict rails, and claim routes. This game offers players of BCLC to enjoy the board game in a brand new way while rewarding them with a wild card bonus and a $50,000 top prize.

It’s an exciting game that allows gamers in British Columbian to purchase a $3 ticket and go on a tour across Canada. The board game boasts a vibrant artwork by Pollard Banknote, taking players on a cross-country journey to uncover all four numbers in the same-coloured rail line. Ticket to Ride uses the ever-popular lucky lines play concept. As the journey unfolds, players can board the train and win a cash jackpot when they get a wild card bonus.

Ticket to Ride board game won the prestigious Spiel des Jahres award in 2004. This was all that the game needed to shoot into prominence worldwide. Since then, Ticket to Ride has sold more than 10 million copies in 50+ countries.

An integrated and comprehensive marketing strategy, sponsored by Pollard Banknote, is being used for the first instant ticket launch in British Columbia, Canada. This strategy includes a successful social media campaign and creating a how-to-play video for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation website.

BCLC was founded by British Columbia in 1985 to give back to society and help communities grow. The corporation has since delivered in excess of $28 billion to support charities, communities, government programs, and other events to help shape the affairs of the province.

Pollard Banknote is a key lottery partner to 60+ lottery operators worldwide. The organization provides high-quality instant ticket products, certified games, and sales-driving merchandising solutions from its Schafer Retail Solutions Plus portfolio. In addition, Pollard Banknote delivers a range of digital services, from top-notch gaming apps to extensive player interaction and iLottery solutions.

Commenting on the launch, Erin Neoh, Senior Product Specialist, Instant Games, BCLC, remarked: “We are delighted to offer British Columbians a brand new way to experience the fun and the spirit of Ticket to Ride this summer. Collaborating with Pollard Banknote has resulted in a great new game that will provide our players with many moments of excitement and adventure, and is a welcome addition to our Scratch & Win portfolio.”
