Macau might be brought back to life again thanks to the loosening restrictions regarding COVID quarantine. The Macau government now plans to reinstate eVisas, which makes it possible again for Australians to visit Macau to have a little gamble in one of the largest casinos in the world.

The casinos in Macau such as the Grand Lisboa, Galaxy casino and the Sands MGM Macau suffered great losses the last couple of years to due covid lockdowns and harsh quarantine rules for tourists such as Australians. However, in the last quarter of 2022 might be the turnaround point for Macau when the restrictions are loosening and the tourists that can visit the Gambling capital of Asia again.
Tourists packages will be available soon for mainland Chinese who aren´t able to gamble in the mainland of China. In the past millions of Chinese tourists visited Macau to have a gamble on the Baccarat table or the pokies machines. Due to COVID these tourists stayed away, which was a big blow to the local gambling industry of Macau.
Macau was also a popular destination for Australians who love to gamble. Australians do not need a visa to visit Macau, which makes it easier for the thousands of Australians who visit the gambling capital.
Macau is now ging to reopen the borders for visitors from 41 different countries, such as Australia, New Zealand and the United Stated. However, a 7-day quarantine at a hotel is still needed. Which makes it unattractive for gamblers who want to spend a day or two at the former Portuguese colony.
